The panel (1) has a storage compartment (7) opened towards interior of a motor vehicle. Fastening points and/or electrical connection points e.g. electric connection socket (36), for an auxiliary equipment (19) such as mobile telephone and iPod (RTM: Portable media player), are provided in the compartment. An electrical system of the vehicle supplies electric current to the auxiliary equipment through the socket. The auxiliary equipment is connected with the fastening point using a locking or snap connection. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembly of an instrument panel with an auxiliary equipment.
