The method involves providing a nozzle (7) with a nozzle opening (12) facing to a sliding surface (3,4), by which the lubricant is deployed between the sliding surface and the nozzle. The nozzle is adjusted during the application of the lubricant oscillating to the level of sliding surfaces, and is moved away. An independent claim is also included for a device for applying a lubricant on a sliding surface of a sliding guide.
