The nozzle has a needle for controlling injection of fuel. A sliding piston is drive coupled with an actuator and a coupler piston. The sliding piston comprises a sliding surface (12) that is hydraulically coupled with a coupler surface. A control valve controls a control pathway that hydraulically couples a control surface with the sliding surface based on the pressure difference between the control surface and the sliding surface.
