The piezo actuator has metallic inner electrodes (5,5') arranged between piezo thicknesses (3), so that a piezo stack (1) is formed. A base metallic coating is realized by a metallization paste which possesses multiple different silver-powder grits as a silver-glass paste. A glass component of the metallization paste is a lead-zinc-boron seal glass or a lead-boron-zinc-tin seal glass. The silver-glass paste contains an organic binder mixture which is made of a short-chain cellulose derivative and a short-chain dispersing resin on the basis of a polymethacrylate. An independent claim is included for a method for manufacturing a piezo actuator.
