The method involves performing an activation of a stop light (103) based on a braking intervention of a control system or a regulating system. The control system is provided with an active or passive speed control. The activation of the stop light is indicated to a driver of a vehicle (101) based on the stop light, where the stop light comprises a partial translucent opening in a driving direction. The activation of the stop light is indicated in a display unit and/or by an illuminating unit, and is performed through a manual activation of a brake pedal (104).
