The method for coating a surface of tooth flanks (2) of pinion (1), comprises producing static loaded particles from coating material and then moving towards the tooth flanks to be coated. A section of the surface of the tooth flanks is aligned in a flat angle to the movement direction of the particle. The particles are partially distracted through electric and/or magnetic- fields or lenses so that it subject under a sufficiently large angle on the section of the surface. The loaded particles are produced by physical vapor deposition or chemical vapor deposition. The method for coating a surface of tooth flanks (2) of pinion (1), comprises producing static loaded particles from coating material and then moving towards the tooth flanks to be coated.
