The method for coating a surface of tooth flanks (2) of pinion (1), comprises producing static loaded particles from coating material and then moving towards the tooth flanks to be coated. A section of the surface of the tooth flanks is aligned in a flat angle to the movement direction of the particle. The particles are partially distracted through electric and/or magnetic- fields or lenses so that it subject under a sufficiently large angle on the section of the surface. The loaded particles are produced by physical vapor deposition or chemical vapor deposition. The method for coating a surface of tooth flanks (2) of pinion (1), comprises producing static loaded particles from coating material and then moving towards the tooth flanks to be coated. A section of the surface of the tooth flanks is aligned in a flat angle to the movement direction of the particle. The particles are partially distracted through electric and/or magnetic- fields or lenses so that it subject under a sufficiently large angle on the section of the surface. The loaded particles are produced by physical vapor deposition or chemical vapor deposition. The focal length of the lens is changed during the coating process. The particles are distracted by positively loaded elements arranged in the tooth interval. The surface element covers a tooth flank bounding the tooth interval and has a positive potential against the second tooth flank.
