The mechanism comprises an electric power supply, which is accommodated in the housing unit (5,7,9) for driving a water locomotion appliance (1). The two housing units define a center axis, particularly a form rotation axis. A quick clamp is provided for producing clamping forces between two housing units that are transferred coaxial or parallel to the center axis. The quick clamp has a pivoted eccentric actuator lever that is supported on one of the housing unit. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a water locomotion appliance comprises a drive and an electric power source; and (2) a power supply unit for a water locomotion appliance for transporting an aquanaut.
