The fan has an impeller (4) arranged in housing (1) e.g. spiral housing, and coupled to a drive motor (8) over an impeller shaft (6) and a coupling e.g. magnetic coupling. The shaft is arranged at a flange bearing (5). The bearing is arranged in a rear wall (9) of the housing that is provided with an air supply opening (2). The bearing stays in connection with an inner area of the housing. The bearing includes ball bearings that are arranged at a distance to each other in a longitudinal direction of the shaft. An air outlet flange is formed at a cylindrical side wall (1a).
