Measurement device for determining the mass flow rate of loose or granular type material has an impeller wheel (2) that is driven at a constant angular velocity by a drive shaft (3) and is acted on by an axial flow of material so that it imparts both radial and tangential flow components to the material. The drive shaft has a bearing housing (4) that extends into the housing space (1) of the impeller. The bearing housing is driven by separate drive means (32) so that it rotates with the same speed as the drive shaft.
