The device has an electrically conductive coupling surface formed at a moveable unit (1). A data transmission device is provided at the moveable unit and connected to the electrically conductive coupling surface. Data are transmitted between the data transmission device and another data transmission device over a forward conductor (11), return conductor (12) and primary conductor (16). The latter data transmission device is attached or coupled to the primary conductor, and the electrically conductive coupling surface with the primary conductor forms a capacitive coupling element. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for operating a device for contactless energy transmission (2) a system with electrical consumers that are inductively supplyable from a primary conductor.
