The method for continuous electrolytic galvanization of steel band in galvanic cells, comprises guiding the steel band through a zinc containing electrolytic fluid and separating a zinc layer from the steel band over an applied electric current between a dissolvable compact zinc electrode polarized as anode and a steel band polarized as cathode. The zinc is dissolved in a separate dissolving station in the electrolytic fluid and is brought to galvanic cells. The zinc containing slag is mechanically crushed before using in the dissolving station. The method for continuous electrolytic galvanization of steel band in galvanic cells, comprises guiding the steel band through a zinc containing electrolytic fluid and separating a zinc layer from the steel band over an applied electric current between a dissolvable compact zinc electrode polarized as anode and a steel band polarized as cathode. The zinc is dissolved in a separate dissolving station in the electrolytic fluid and is brought to galvanic cells. The zinc is brought directly to the dissolving station in the form of an emerging and skimmed zinc containing slag during the galvanization of the surface of the zinc bath after cooling the slag. The zinc containing slag is mechanically crushed before using in the dissolving station. The mechanical crushing is a granulation. The further metal e.g. heavy metals contained in the slag except zinc is removed before separation of the zinc on the steel band over ion exchange. The zinc containing slag is prepared before using to plate forming electrode. The zinc containing slag emerging in the galvanization of the surface of zinc bath is skimmed, is recycled to the compact electrode after cooling and is used as dissolved anode in the galvanic cell.
