The roller (1) has a pivotable roller sleeve (3) provided with a material that contains a carbon fiber reinforced material. A perforation is arranged uniformly over an outer circumference (7) in a circumferential direction at the sleeve, where the perforation is variable over a width (b) of the roller. The perforation is formed by passage openings and/or grooves, which are characterized by a geometrical shape and a dimension, where the openings are formed in oval or circular shape. The perforation is characterized in a radial direction based on a longitudinal axis (L) of the sleeve. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a roller sleeve.
