Magnetic field sensor position calibrating method for use at motor vehicle gearbox, involves calculating correction factor, and storing correction factor in memory of control device, stays in signal connection with magnetic field sensor
The method involves monitoring a magnetic field sensor (S1) relative to a measuring magnetic transmitter (6), and moving the magnetic field sensor along a transverse path in an intermediate path position (Xmax). Intermediate path position sensor signals (UMess) in the intermediate path position are determined, and a correction factor is calculated as a quotient of the intermediate path position sensor signals and rated sensor signals. The correction factor is stored in a memory (11) of a control device (10), where the control device stays in a signal connection with the magnetic field sensor. An independent claim is also included for a device for calibrating a position of a magnetic field sensor.
