The air bag restraint device has an inflatable air bag, which has a front side facing to the passenger and a rear side averted from the passenger. The retaining mediums (20,22) are arranged outside of the air bag for impact of the inflatable air bag. The retaining mediums are fixed at ends (20a,22a) relative to the front side of the air bag. The retaining mediums are adjustable.
