The device (2) has a flexible catheter sheath (4) surrounding a catheter cavity (6). A coupling device (14) is arranged at a proximal end (10) in the proximity of a catheter tip (12) to transport and position an occluder (16) designed for occlusion of a defect of a septum of a heart. A sensor (18) e.g. optical image sensor, is provided in an area of the catheter tip for imaging. The sensor is designed and arranged in such a manner that a visual field covers an area lying around the occluder coupled to the coupling device or covers an area lying before the catheter tip. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a medical examination and treatment device comprising a catheter device (2) a method for minimally invasive intervention at a septum of a heart.
