The silicon solar cell (1) has a transparent and electrically conductive front electrode layer (3) on a transparent substrate (2). A layer thickness of a negatively conducting layer (n) standing in contact with a back electrode layer (5) amounts to more than 25 nanometer. The negatively conducting layer, in contact with the back electrode layer, is made of micro- or nanocrystalline silicon, non-alloyed silicon layer, and silicon sublayer partially alloyed with carbon or oxygen. The non-alloyed or partially alloyed layer is composed of amorphous silicon.
