The method involves providing a permanent magnetic area and a recess (16) in a magnetic carrier (10) of a magnetic device. The recess is filled with a magnetic material (14) for production of the permanent magnetic area, where the magnetic material includes loose molding cohesion during filling of the recess. The magnetic material is transferred from the loose molding cohesion into fixed molding cohesion after filling of the recess. A reservoir is supplied with the magnetic material in a free-flowing form. An independent claim is also included for an electrical machine having a magnetic device.
