The method involves inserting a magnetic raw material (3) into a coating material forming a cap (2), where the sinterable material is used as a coating material. The cap serves as a protection unit at a rotor of an electro-dynamic machine in a mounted condition. The magnetic raw material in the cap is heated, and a permanent magnet in the cap is formed by a sintering process of the magnetic raw material. The magnetic raw material is magenetized before the sintering process, is pressed into the cap and is demagnetized.
