The linear drive has a linear motor consisting of a rotor and a stator. The stator of the linear motor is formed along a part of a traverse path of the drawer in extending manner. The lengths of the rotor and the stator are determined according to a specified maximum speed and a specified maximum load of the drawer. The rotor of a linear motor is placed at a lower side of a base part of the drawer in stationary manner. An independent claim is included for a furniture with a standing part at which the stator of the linear motor is stationarily attached.
