The chain (1) has a chain link with inner straps (6) and outer straps (2) connected together via a hinge joint in a flexible manner, where the hinge joint exhibits a bolt (3) and a rubber elastic element (4) provided against a relative rotation of the inner straps and outer straps. The rubber elastic element is flexibly twisted, and produces a resetting moment acting between the inner straps and outer straps during linear extension of the chain. The resetting moment is aligned towards a curvature of the chain away from fixing elements.
