Electromechanical servo steering system for controlling desired steering angle of wheels of vehicle, has adjusting unit for adjusting steering angle of wheels, where supplementary signal is provided dependent on effect of road on wheels
The system has sensors (4, 5) for receiving a driver input-signal that is entered via steering handles (1), and an adjusting unit (9) for supportingly adjusting a steering angle of steered wheels (11) of a vehicle. A supplementary signal superimposes a control signal (S) for transmitting information to the steering handles, where a frequency of the steering handles lies above a predetermined frequency. The supplementary signal is provided dependent on the effect of a road on the steered wheels of the vehicle. An independent claim is also included for a method for impressing excitation provided by a roadway surface on a control signal of an adjusting unit in a servo steering system.
