The transmission (100) has a balance (106) comprising a crown wheel (112) and supported in a transmission case (102), where a drive pinion (114) combs at a side of the balance with the crown wheel. The drive pinion on the balance side comprises bearing pins (182) supported in a pinion head bearing (126) i.e. sliding bearing. The pinion head bearing is formed as an emergency support and comprises a clearance of one millimeter. The balance supports the pinion head bearing at a bearing support.
