The potentiometer (1), particularly rotary potentiometer has multipart housing, in which a potentiometer shaft (2) is arranged. A guiding device (13) is positioned in the housing by potentiometer shaft, where a rotary shaft seal (14) with a seal rim is arranged on the guiding device. The rotary shaft seal has an outer edge, which is designed as spacer (15).
