The potentiometer (1) has a resistance element (2), provided with a potentiometer resistance and a slider element (3) having a slider (9) which is displaced along the potentiometer resistance by rotation of the slider element about a rotation axis (10). The slider element is coupled to a drive shaft (14), coaxial to the rotation axis, via a planetary gearing (4), the inner wall of the potentiometer housing acting as the hollow wheel (11) of the planetary gearing.
