Spring damping device for a McPherson strut used for supporting a wheel on a vehicle construction (5) comprises a revolving piston (10) guided in an outer bell (30). The upper part of the strut is hinged to the vehicle construction. The lower part consists of a wheel support or an axle journal (2) for positioning a wheel and is supported by at least one at least one-part connecting rod on the vehicle construction. At least one tubular rolling bellows (61) and at least one sliding pair (56) for mutual longitudinal guiding are arranged between the outer bell and revolving piston. The outer bell, revolving piston and tubular rolling bellows at least partly define a bellows space (6). Preferred Features: The bellows space communicates with a hydraulic accumulator (70) via a throttle point (77).
