The system has a measurement assembly (41) for receiving a sample and comprising an enclosure (42) made of silver. An infrared lamp assembly (59) is circumferentially placed around an oblong circular cylinder of the measurement assembly and comprises a cavity (46) whose length is identical to that of the cylinder. A variable thermal resistor (44) is coupled to the measurement assembly. A heat dissipator (51) is thermally coupled to the resistor and infrared reflector. The resistor varies thermal resistance between the measurement assembly and dissipator during measurement of the sample. An independent claim is also included for a method for executing a thermal analysis.
