The device has a case (1) with an exhaust gas inlet (E) and an exhaust gas outlet (S), and a pollutant removing unit (2) i.e. particles filter, disposed at an interior of the case. A low pressure exhaust gas recirculation circuit has an exhaust gas recirculation spur that is disposed at downstream of the pollutant removing unit. The circuit has a filtration element for filtering non-combustible particles whose size is greater than 0.2 millimeter. The filtration element comprises a braided metallic support and a metallic mesh-type filtering medium.
