The method involves determining minimal airflow rates for compressors (C1, C2) before pumping, based on compression rate of the compressors. A ratio between an air flow rate (QC1) of the compressor (C1) or air flow rate (QC2) of the compressor (C2) and total rate is determined from the minimal air rates and a position of variable geometry (5) of a turbine (T1), where the ratio is the function of the position of the variable geometry. Minimal and maximal software stop values are implemented in the engine control for avoiding pumping of one of the compressors. An independent claim is also included for an engine control and supercharging system assembly comprising compressors.
