PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for deciding a major group in a split brain state occurring in a network-based distributed computing environment, a system, and a computer-readable recording medium. PSOLUTION: In the method for deciding a major group from a plurality of groups, which are generated when an initial group constructed of a plurality of nodes are divided, in the network-based distributed environment, the number of nodes of a first group is compared with that of a second group, node history information of the first group and that of the second group are obtained, and using either of a comparison result of the number of the nodes and the history information at least, the first group or the second group is decided as the major group.
