PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: although air serves as a clad at a connection part where a coating is absent between a rare-earth added double-clad fiber and a general single-mode fiber to confine remaining pumping light, pump light leaks in a part having a coating and then the fibers partially generate heat with the energy thereof to deteriorate to be broken.;SOLUTION: A remaining pumping light absorbing, diverging, and reflecting mechanism is provided at the connection part between the double-clad fiber and single-mode fiber to prevent fiber deterioration due to the remaining pumping light which is a problem of a fiber laser light source for linear polarized light and to achieve single polarization in a simple method. Consequently, reliability is improved and there is no limitation to pumping high output, thereby increasing oscillation optical output.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
