PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller used in a power factor control (PFC) converter. PSOLUTION: The power converter 100 connects an ac voltage source 106 to a bridge rectifier 108, and is connected to a power switch 118 via an energy storing inductor L1114. An integrator 154 of a controller 102 generates an output signal 157 upon receiving an input voltage signal UVIN130 responding to the magnitude of the ac voltage source 106 and a current detection signal UIIN164 responding to a current flowing when the power switch 118 is turned on. An on/off-logic 156 drives the power switch 118 to control power flowing through an energy transmission element 128 of the power converter 100. When the output signal 157 reaches a threshold, the o/off-logic 156 finishes the on-period of the power switch 118. A gain of the integrator 154 is adjusted so as to be constant when the magnitude of a load 126 is constant. PCOPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
