PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preventing carryover contamination of a nucleic acid amplification reaction. PSOLUTION: The improved method for preventing carryover contamination of an amplification reaction involves steps of treating uracil-containing DNA with uracil-N-DNA glycosylase and of heating the DNA in the presence of polyamines, such as spermidine, spermine and the like.
