PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately calculate the posture of an input device by using a gyro-sensor. PSOLUTION: The posture calculating device acquires data from the input device at least having the gyro-sensor, an acceleration sensor and an image pickup means to calculate the posture of the input device. At first, the calculating device calculates a posture of the input device from an angular velocity the gyro-sensor senses and corrects the posture based on the acceleration data the acceleration sensor senses, and further, corrects the posture based on an image of the specified image pickup object picked up by the image pickup means.
