PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an earthquake resistance improving method for an existing PC tank, in which the earthquake resistance of the dilapidated existing PC tank can be improved in a relatively short construction period and at a low cost without constructing a new tank, and to provide an earthquake resistance improving structure for the existing PC tank.;SOLUTION: According to the earthquake resistance improving method, a base isolation device 30 is set on a PC bottom slab 12 of the existing PC tank 10, and a steel internal cylinder 20 having a diameter smaller than the internal diameter of the existing PC tank 10 is set on the base isolation device 30, followed by storing liquid 40 inside the steel internal cylinder 20.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
