PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for determining risk of poor prognosis of renal cell carcinoma which is unpredictable by existing standards such as histological classification.;SOLUTION: The method for detecting the poor prognosis risk of renal cell carcinoma includes (a) a step of preparing a genome DNA derived from a renal tissue of an examinee, (b) a step of examining the presence of methylation of genome DNA prepared in the step (a) in a region relating to the renal cell carcinoma and (c) a step of determining whether the examinee is classified to a poor prognosis group or not from a DNA methylation pattern clarified in the step (b).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
