PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide new methods for determining the risk of onset of urothelial carcinoma and prognostic defect risk, or recurrence risk in bladder of renal pelvis-ureteral cancer.;SOLUTION: The methods includes the steps of: (a) preparing urothelial-derived genomic DNA of a relevant subject; (b) examining the presence/absence of a DNA methylation in an urothelial carcinoma onset-associated region, urothelial carcinoma prognosis-associated, or renal pelvis-ureteral cancer prognosis prognosis-associated region, as for the genomic DNA prepared in the step (a); and (c) determining whether the subject is classified as a carcinogenesis high-risk group, prognosis defect group, or in-bladder recurrence high-risk group, based on a DNA methylation pattern clarified in the step (b).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
