PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for measuring the mass of a plated film per unit area on a hot-dip metal-plated steel sheet, which can enhance the accuracy of the mass of the plated film per unit area and the stability of a plating operation, by precisely measuring the mass of the plated film per unit area sticking to a steel sheet after plating, and to provide a device for measuring the mass of the plated film per unit area.;SOLUTION: An apparatus for manufacturing the hot-dip metal-plated steel sheet 22 while controlling the mass of the deposit of a molten metal per unit area on both sides of the plated steel sheet 22 which has been continuously passed through a molten-metal bath 13 and raised, by using a wiping nozzle 14, comprises: detecting each of the sheet thickness distribution in the width direction of a steel sheet 2 in the entrance side of the molten-metal bath 13 and the sheet thickness distribution in the width direction of the plated steel sheet 22 in the appearance side of the wiping nozzle 14; and computing the distribution of the mass of the plated film per unit area in the width direction, from the difference between the sheet thickness of the not-yet-plated steel sheet 21 and the sheet thickness of the plated steel sheet 22.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
