PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer target object separation apparatus that separates a transfer target object with improved reliability without affecting an image transferred to the transfer target object.;SOLUTION: A transfer target object separation apparatus 17 includes a transfer target object separation suction section that sucks an opposite surface of a transfer target object having a transfer surface moving in contact with an intermediate transfer belt 4 and separates the transfer target object from the intermediate transfer belt 4.
