PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such the problem that the damage of hair can be temporarily concealed by a coating agent such as silicone, but this is not a fundamental solution and may give further damage to hair when it is used for a long time, and thus there is required a hair protecting agent using a naturally occurring component excellent in biocompatibility and environmental suitability as an active component.;SOLUTION: The hair protecting agent includes an extract obtained by extracting Brown algae with a solvent including a lower alcohol selected from the group consisting of methanol, ethanol, n-propyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol, n-butyl alcohol, isobutyl alcohol, sec-butyl alcohol, and tert-butyl alcohol, and mixtures thereof.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
