PROPHYLAXIS AND/OR TREATMENT OF PORTAL HYPERTENSION

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medicament for prophylaxis and/or treatment of diseases or complications associated with portal hypertension, in particular haemorrhagic complications. PSOLUTION: The pharmaceutical composition includes a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor (excluding sildenafil and vardenafil) as an active component in the form of oral administration, where the single dosage of the inhibitor is 0.01-10 mg per kg body weight. The phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitor can remarkably lower portal vein pressure and enlarges a portal vain diameter, remarkably increasing portal vain blood flow. PCOPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
