PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition which is excellent in ability to adjust normal oral bacterial flora, has high antibacterial activity against periodontal bacteria, cariogenic bacteria and opportunistic infectious bacteria, does not show any antibacterial activity against normal oral bacterial flora and thus does not destroy the bacterial flora balance, and to provide an easy, effective method for oral care.;SOLUTION: The agent for adjusting normal oral bacterial flora has prescribed viscosity, shows antibacterial activity against at least one chosen from periodontal bacteria, cariogenic bacteria and opportunistic infectious bacteria, does not show any antibacterial activity against normal oral bacterial flora and has moisturizing action. The agent preferably contains effective amounts of catechin and xanthan gum and is particularly preferably a gel agent. The method for adjusting normal oral bacterial flora comprises applying the agent for adjusting the normal oral bacterial flora to the oral cavity by at least one method chosen from spreading, brushing of teeth, oral ingestion and eating.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
