PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solenoid temperature estimating device of an engine valve controlling mechanism, accurately estimating solenoid temperature, so as to control a control current sent to an electromagnetic solenoid with high accuracy. PSOLUTION: The solenoid temperature estimating device is applied to the engine valve control mechanism equipped with: a VCT 20 (hydraulic actuator) received inside a head cover E3 of the engine and varying a rotational phase difference of a camshaft 14 from a crankshaft to adjust opening and closing timing of an exhaust valve or an intake valve; an OCV 30 (control valve) controlling a flow of hydraulic oil supplied to the VCT 20; and the electromagnetic solenoid 37 arranged outside the head cover E3 in an engine room ER and controlling operation of the OCV 30, and estimates the temperature of the electromagnetic solenoid 37 based on at least one of speed of air current flowing toward the electromagnetic solenoid 37 in the engine room ER and temperature in the engine room and on temperature of an engine body.
