PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing anatase-type titanium dioxide porous powder having a large specific surface area.;SOLUTION: The method for producing titanium dioxide porous powder produced from an alkoxysilane, an alkoxytitanium and a surfactant includes: a first step of obtaining a silicon dioxide-titanium dioxide porous body by subjecting the alkoxysilane, alkoxytitanium and surfactant to hydrolysis and condensation polymerization under acidity while stirring these at high speed; a second step of removing the surfactant from the silicon dioxide-titanium dioxide porous body obtained at the first step by firing the porous body at a high temperature; and a third step of obtaining titanium dioxide porous powder by removing the silicon dioxide by alkali treatment from the silicon dioxide-titanium dioxide porous body from which the surfactant has been removed at the second step.
