PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optimum wear resistant film capable of suppressing an increase in wear caused by the increase of temperature and the increase of the hardness of a work, to provide a coated cutting tool obtained by being coated with the wear resistant film, and to provide a method for producing the wear resistant film.;SOLUTION: In the wear resistant film, metallic components are expressed by (SiXM1-X), and nonmetallic components are expressed by (NYG1-Y); wherein, when the atomic% only of the metallic components is defined as 100, the value of X is 15 atomic% to 95 atomic%, and, when the atomic% only of the nonmetallic components is defined as 100, the value of Y is 10 atomic% to 99.9 atomic%; M is one or more kinds selected from Ti, Cr, Al, Nb, Mo, Y, Cu and Ni; G is one or more kinds selected from C, O, B, Cl, S, P, H and F, and, in the wear resistant film, crystal grains having an Si content of 10 atomic% and an amorphous phase having an Si content of ≥10 atomic% are present.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
