PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce noise in a reference signal comparative A/D conversion system.;SOLUTION: A reference signal SLP_ADC is compared with each of a P phase and a D phase of a pixel signal voltage Vx and on the basis of a result of the comparison, a count clock CKcnt1 is counted. Data of the count result become signal data Dsig of a difference between the P phase and the D phase and CDS processing is also performed thereon. In such a case, AD conversion processing of (n) bits is performed iteratively W times upon each of the P phase and the D phase of the pixel signal voltage Vx, and they are added to carry out digital integration processing. Any trouble caused by performing addition in an analog domain does not occur. It may be considered that signal data become W times but noise becomes √W times. The problem of random noise, that may not be present in processing in the analog domain, such as quantization noise or circuit noise with A/D conversion is relaxed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
