PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire having improved running performance on a snow or ice covered road. SOLUTION: A plurality of sipes 6 extending to a tire cross direction are provided on the surface of a block 5 on a tread surface 4. At least one each of grooves 7 shallower than the sipes 6 is arranged between the sipes 6 and/or between the sipe and the side end of the block, with its depth being 0.5 mm or less.
