PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flash unit which is easily manufactured without limitation on the layout of the flash unit and which is increased in operational reliability by assembling, and to provide a method for manufacturing the flash unit, and a digital camera. PSOLUTION: The flash unit is to be mounted on a camera, to be irradiated with auxiliary light for photographing. The flash unit is equipped with a xenon (Xe) lamp 24, which discharges by applying a trigger voltage to be irradiated with the auxiliary light; a trigger coil 22 to apply the trigger voltage on the xenon (Xe) lamp 24; and a holder 21 integrally molded with the trigger coil 22 so that one bobbin end surface of the trigger coil 22 is formed, as a well surface for supporting the xenon (Xe) lamp 24, while the trigger voltage is applied.
