PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform automatic adjustment in a connected state without violations in an interface protocol, by an automatic adjustment method for a transmitter of a serial interface.;SOLUTION: Various setting values are set in a transmitter (46), and the retransmission instructions of transmission frames stipulated by an interface protocol are utilized, and the frames are transmitted to a connection destination (5), and response results from the connection destination (5) are used to adjust the optimum values of the transmitter (46). Thus, the operation specifications (conditions) of the interface protocol can be satisfied, and the optimum values can be calculated through the retry of the frame transfer. Under any condition, the separation processing of a disk device due to the deterioration of signal quality is not performed, and the device can be recognized.
