PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new medicine by elucidating the physiological significance of a residual fragment of a proliferation factor of an EGF family and searching a method for controlling its activity.;SOLUTION: This method for screening a cell proliferation inhibitor is characterized by measuring an effect of inhibiting a intracellular information transmission mediated by the following (A) and (B), and the cell proliferation inhibitor contains an inhibitory substance for the intracellular transmission mediated through the residual fragments, as an active ingredient. (A) The residual fragment of a cell membrane-binding type proliferation factor.
