PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-resistant acidophilic bacterium proliferation inhibitor which exhibits a heat-resistant acidophilic bacterium proliferation-inhibiting action, to provide a method for inhibiting heat-resistant acidophilic bacterium proliferation, and to provide a packed acidic food or drink production method. PSOLUTION: The heat-resistant acidophilic bacterium proliferation inhibitor is characterized by including a Macaranga tanarius extract as an active ingredient to inhibit the proliferation of heat-resistant acidophilic bacteria especially included in the genus Alicyclobacillus.
